It's Wednesday! Which means that today I have got some fantastic products to review!
As you all know this is my opinion some products have not be tested on a baby, so its just a first glance and *coup de coeur* reviews.

Today I will be writing about an amazing brand called Skibz, they have become the bib pioneers! Creating all sort of fun and cute bibs! I will be reviewing the Skibz organic Vanilla, as seen in Mini Vogue!
It arrived in a lovely purple with white dots with packaging, which I agree is different and intriguing however it reminded me of sanitary pad's packaging. My first impressions when I first opened the package was WOW that's really white therefore my first fears is will this stay white ?
The bib is very soft! it is made from bamboo with cotton lining. I really liked the logo discretely but yet nice embroidered at the front. It is designed like a bandanna and 'Yay' it does not have Velcro! they used poppers, which is much better than Velcro as little ones tend to pull them off or over time does hold as much. I also love that it is organic.. everyone loves organic ;)
However, I can not say if it is absorbent or not but it definitely looks like it is, I will find out soon...

Available here x RRP £8
*also comes with instructions

Oh My God.. This product has made my pregnancy so much easier. I am getting to the stage where sleeping and even sitting comfortably is difficult. The Original Maternity and Nursing Pillow by Theraline  is simply perfect! It is comfortable, soft and provides stable support, it is great to relief your legs, belly and back. They used high-quality materials which mean the pillow will have a long life! The pillow is filled with fine sand like micro bead, you can feel them when you 'squeeze' the cushion, it also means that it moulds in your shape. You will use it while pregnant then whilst feeding your baby, and then probably for the next sibling or simply as a fun and comfortable cushion around the house. I also loved the cover, waterdrops purple! There are loads of other designs to choose from:)
Warning it is MASSIVE.
If you do not want a tall/big cushion (it is taller than me!) Theraline make  a variety of pregnancy and nursing pillows.
RRP £44.95 Available here x

Lastly, I am just going to mention this product as I just loved the idea of it and how useful it will be for the future, I have not opened them yet! The Multi-award winning Chillipeeps 3in1 Teats & 3in1 Spouts.

"The multi-award winning Chillipeeps adapter solves a common problem many people experience when out and about with young hungry babies and no clean sterilised bottle to use, by allowing a teat or spout to be attached directly to  all ready formula cartons and Aptamil and Cow&Gate ready made formula bottles to feed your baby and Volvic and Evian water bottles to enable you to rehydrate your baby. The Chillipeeps adapter comes in two variants, the Chillipeeps NEW 3in1 teat and the Chillipeeps NEW 3in1 spout."

I just love ... BABYBJÖRN

8:06 PM My Bun In The Oven 0 Comments

People may think I am rushing, I'm only 24 weeks pregnant and seemed to have quickly accumulated baby stuff. I know it is early, but I want to be prepared and let's be honest having a child puts a slight strain on the financial side. So I want to buy everything while I can afford it! Also buying last minute is stressful. I just love it, it makes the prospect of having a baby ..real!
So... YES .. I have a high chair and a baby kitchen set for my unborn little baby boy :) He's not even breastfeeding yet that I am planning for when he is eating food. (which will come quicker than you think). I know this blog was supposed to be about my pregnancy, but it seems I have an obsession to baby products .. I'm addicted!

My lovely parcels.. I haven't built the high chair yet, or properly opened the baby plates, spoons, cups, soft bibs and smock!

I went for the BABYBJÖRN high chair because:

  • Modern and stylish design
  • Not bulky
  • Easy to fold and store
  • Easy to clean
  • No harness

Reviews : Bits and Bobs Wednesday

5:15 PM My Bun In The Oven 0 Comments

Hello and Welcome back to Bits and Bobs Wednesday!

Today I will be reviewing 4 products I came across in the last few weeks...
First of all I will be reviewing the sky baby by ..sky baby!

   Sky Baby!
I am and always will be fan of travelling, my hubby and I are always travelling whenever we can and when our busy lives allow us, we both have family abroad and are keen to travel with our little bundle of joy.
However, you all probably know that travelling with a baby is definitely not easy! The skybaby comes as a god sent as the skybaby mattress is designed to make it easier, I'm not kidding myself I know it still won't be easy but I hope it will provide that extra confortable factor to allow my baby to sleep on the plane rather than on my laps.
The skybaby is specially designed to be attached to all infant plane belts.

It is also very light at 0.3kg!
It is easy to wash, just pop it in the washing machine and Voila!

I can not wait to travel with my newborn!

Available here -> x RRP £29.99

Sleepy Sheepy Cuddle Robe - Natures Purest

This is simply the cutest and softest hooded towel I've seen! I love it is perfect for my newborn skin and great for cuddles after the bath! It is made of soft cotton (that's why its so soft!).  The sleepy sheepy cuddle robe is perfect for yourself or even to be given as a gift!

 Available here -> x RRP £20.00

Fun & Funky Changing Bag

If you are looking for a big bag ...here it is! The fun and funky changing bag is so big that you can easily everything you need! It also comes with a changing map, Insulated bottle bag and a Grubby stuff bag! The design is fun and different! The only cons I seemed to dislike is that the bag is too big and very heavy without anything in, I'm afraid that the bag would be too big and heavy for my pushchair other than that ...perfect !
Available here -> x RRP £40

Fun Bandana Bibs

I don't know if you noticed but I love Bibs!..I mean the fun ones, and I was extremely happy when I acquired the Funky Giraffe Fun Bandana Bibs! Not only do they come with fun designs but they also feel soft with 100% cotton and are really absorbants!

Buying Second Hand- Baby Clothes

3:28 PM My Bun In The Oven 0 Comments

Hello everyone!

We all want the best clothes for our babies! But realistically, it cost a lot of money and they do not wear them for long. Because I don't grow money, I started looking at second-hand clothes!
I just started buying second-hand clothes, after the initial "I want to buy every baby clothes I see"

I'm finally saving money, which means I can spend more money on more important baby items.
So here are my most recent second-hand buys :

Baby Gap:

This beautiful bundle includes 3 vests, 1 cardigan and 2 all-in-ones. All this for only £5 + £3 postage.

Despite their ever growing reputation, I was a little bit disappointed by the quality of the clothes. They feel very thin.

Next :

3 beautiful vests!

Jojo Maman bebe
3 all-in-ones, as you probably know, Jojo maman bebe is a fantastic brand for baby wear so this was a bargain !

How much do you save by buying second hand ?

Reviews : Bits and Bobs Wednesday

Hello and welcome to : Bits and Bobs Wednesday

Today I thought to myself  "I have so many products I'd love to review !" So I thought about creating a new sequel (similar to my old sequel Makeup and bits/previous blog) , called as you guessed it Bits and Bobs Wednesday. Every Wednesday I will  review three or four new products I love or hate.
Let me know if you like it !

And without more ado, the three products I will be reviewing today are :

_Zippy Fun Bandana Bib RRP £3.00
_ Little Butterfly London Soft as Moonlight nappy cream RRP £25.50
_Tappy Tap Guard & Bath Toy £12.00

Zippy Fun Bandana Bib

Zippy Baby wear creates fun and stylish bandana bib (also suits) for your little ones.
As everyone know bibs are absolutely important when you have a baby, and they go through a lot of them in a day!
I opted for a simple and yet stylish fun bandana. As I did not the sex of my cute little baby yet. A nice beige unisex color was perfect.
The fun bandana bib can go with a lot of outfits and feels very soft . I almost felt like I wanted to wear it (Laugh out loud). It is very easy to wash:  Just pop it in th washing machine and Voila!

The Fun Bandana Bib is not only fun and stylish, it is also an neccesary accessory for a baby.

My only concern is that I'm afraid that it would get wet very quickly but I'll have to wait and see when  LO arrives.

Little Butterfly London Soft as Moonlight nappy cream

Little Butterfly London is an organic and hypoallergenic and dermatologis approved and is great for babies skins especially for sensitives skins (dry and eczema)

The Soft as Moonlight nappy cream was shortlisted for many categories in the Lovedbyparents Awards 2015.

It is a bit of a tricky review as I am still pregnant, and no I did not try it  on myself or on Hubby, as much as I wanted to.
However I did actually try it on my friends newborn baby and Wow! What a wonderfull cream it is ! As i touched it I could feel it do wondes just on my hand and baby L seemed quite impressed as she was suffering from a sore bum. Over a few days the cream healed baby L's cute bottom. The cream uses over 18 different ingredients such as mango seed butter and cucumber seed oil.
I would definetly say it is a luxury nappy cream.

But at a retail price of £25.50 it might be a bit pricy for a nappy cream even it is absolutly amazing. I know we all wwant the best for a children but sudocrem does the job at a more affordable price.
I think anything for the Little Butterfly London would make a good gift for a baby shower or just as a newborn gift ... hint hint

Available at : littlebutterflyorganic.com

Tappy Tap Guard & Bath Toy

Alright this review is on a very interesting octopus. As soon as I saw it I knew it was a great innovative tap guard. Not only does it protect the very hot tap from being touched or turned ( and holds surprisingy well ), it is also a fun toy you can fill up with water through the mouth into the octopus's legs. It also has colors and numbers which are great for toddlers. This octopus definetly has a place in my bathroom.

BabyBjörn We Baby Carrier "dots" Limited edition by Karin

8:28 PM My Bun In The Oven 0 Comments

I've acquired the BabyBjörn We Baby Carrier "dots" Limited edition  a month ago. I was attracted by the"chic" design which the We "dots" limited edition had. I like to look good with my baby and this really did the job. Upon opening the box I was a little confused at first as how it worked but thanks to the instructions it didn't take me longer than 5 minutes to understand it.  It looks really secure for a newborn, with different  front "positions" available for newborn. I was so impatient to try it out that I tried the We carrier with my friends newborn! The security (belts/ sturdy) is amazing and I felt reassured that the baby was fully supported. As well as the security I loved the quality of the product, you can really feel that it is a good quality product and it also very easy to wash without damaging the carrier. The only point in which I was disappointed was the fact that there is not a "front " position so that when my little boy is older he won't be able to face and see the world rather than my chest however, the back position is a good alternative. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the We baby carrier and definitely recommend it!

Available at John Lewis, RRP £84.95

Review; Folic acid 400 µg (Boots) and Seven Seas Trying For A Baby Vitamins.

5:45 PM My Bun In The Oven 0 Comments

I will start to review with the first vitamins after my hubby and I decided to try for a baby, I looked in the aisle of boots for ages before deciding on the Seven Seas Trying For A Baby Vitamins which looked the most attractive , price and quality. The price being only £4.49, with a very explicit name and attractive package, off I went to the till.
Seven Seas Trying For A Baby Vitamins contains not only Folic acid (400 µg) but iron and vitamin D. As you all know Folic Acid is recommended to be taken months before you even try to conceive. Folic Acid reduced the risk of neural-tube defect such as spina bifida. During pregnancy it is recommended to take 600 to 800 mcg rather than the pre-conception 400mcg.
Seven Seas Trying For A Baby Vitamins is similar to taking the pill, it comes in a monthly packet, with the days, and you take one a day.
Even if this product sound great it did not work out for me, not even a week in I started feeling very ill. I had nausea and diarrhea. So off I went to the  nurse to see what could be done because I was desperate to keep taking the Folic Acid.
The nurse simply told me, to stick with simple folic acid tablets witch leads me to my next review.

Boots FOLIC ACID 400 µg 60 tablets, at first I was reluctant to buy the simple and cheap Folic Acid (£1.99) from boots however my body adapted to it so much better, only if I took it before going to bed or while having my dinner which is not always convenient when invited out.

I would highly recommend both products however if you have a sensitive stomach I would stick with the simple Folic Acid while having a healthy diet.

Early Pregnancy Symptom , Before AF.

5:01 PM My Bun In The Oven 0 Comments

If you are similar to me, every month it is the same ritual of questions, am I pregnant ? can I have symptoms before my missed period?
Well, yes but they are so similar to PMS symptoms it is hard to be sure. However, some signs are really positive towards that famous BFP.
The number one symptom for me was sore breast, they hurt so much that just having a shower and having water touch them was unbearable. Of course, you could tell me that it is also a very important sign of PMS, but for me who never get sore breast before af it was an indicator that something was different.
The famous cramps ! which makes cry as it is a well-known symptom that the witch is coming, but rejoice my friends because it also an early symptom of pregnancy,  which can happen as early as 4 dpo due to implantation and when your periods would be due because your body is working very hard to make your uterus nice and welcoming for your little bundle of joy.
Fatigue - If you can't stay awake in your afternoon meeting, be ready for a surprise!
Nausea, I personally did not have nausea until I was 7 weeks which led to a major food aversion, in that I mean I could not eat anything. On one occasion I cried because I wanted to a normal meal rather than just toast, it was not just the fact that I felt like throwing up every second ( morning sickness needs to have a more accurate name!) but everything I used to love tasted like dust!

However remember that everyone is different and what I experienced and what you experienced/ will experience can be different.
